How to do it
1Use earplugs or noise-canceling headphones in loud environments
2Follow the 60/60 rule: headphones at max 60% volume for max 60 minutes
3Take breaks from prolonged noise exposure
4Get hearing checked annually after age 50
5Address hearing loss early with hearing aids if needed
Safety notes
Noise-induced hearing loss is irreversible. Prevention is the only effective strategy.
